REEF LIFE Strontium contains strontium ions in a form that can be easily assimilated by all invertebrates. It is essential for the production and the maintenance of the skeleton of hard corals, the shells of reef mussels and calcareous algae. In the sea, the strontium concentration is about 8 mg/l. There can be a lack of strontium in the aquarium if it isn’t re-dosed regularly.
